Maliki: Baath Party leader asked his followers to get ready, when the Americans withdraw then pounce on the Iraqi regime
Baghdad, Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki, said “we arrested the baathists before the American withdraw so that nobody says the government benefited from the withdrawal.”
He compared the Baath Party with the Nazis in Germany, explaining that the baath is a constitutionally banned party in Iraq.

Maliki announced “the leader of baath asked his followers to get ready and when the Americans withdraw, then, they pounce on the Iraqi regime.”
On the other hand, Maliki pointed out that “the Americans did not interfere in the security file since signing the security agreement on 2008,” adding that the number of employees in the American Embassy now is not more than 1500.
He went on saying “maybe some consider that a big number, but, many of them will be practicing their job; experts in agricultural, economic, cultural, educational fields.”
