Talibani congratulates Iraqi people on new Hijri Year

Baghdad, President Jalal al-Talabani congratulated today the Iraqi people on the new Hijri year, hoping for the consolidation of security and stability in the country.

In a cable, copy received by Aswat al-Iraq, he congratulated all Muslims and Mankind to have a year of peace and tranquility. This Hijri year marks the immigration of Prophet Mohammed from Mecca to Madina, Saudi Arabia, before 1433 years, after being harassed by non-believers.
