Prime Minister visits Kuwait and the United States after Japan

BAGHDAD - A morning visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Kuwait and the United States early next month after finishing an official visit to Japan starting at the beginning of next week.

The official sources said yesterday that al-Maliki received an invitation from his Kuwaiti counterpart Nasser Hamad to visit Kuwait to discuss outstanding issues between the two countries and find ways to solve them.

The sources added that Maliki accepted the invitation and will visit Kuwait during the next few days and will present all the outstanding issues between the two countries.

He will also visit the Prime Minister the United States early next month after finishing an official visit to Japan starting early next week for talks with Japanese Prime Minister and a number of officials.

And Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari (morning) that "Maliki's visit to America will be an important visit." He added Maliki "will be discussed with U.S. President Barack Obama, the future of US-Iraqi relations and the focus will be on ways of activating the strategic framework agreement and a meeting of the joint committees."
