Basra, An official source at the South Oil Company on Saturday evening, Basra province will add to the end of this week's conference on Iraq's first oil and gas in the presence of government officials and delegations from several foreign companies.
The source told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) that "the conference held by the Oil Ministry aims to discuss new ways in the development of oil and gas industry in Iraq."
"The conference will continue the two-day review of research and studies dealing with the reality of oil and gas industry in Iraq and how to develop them."
And the Iraqi government to raise the ceiling on production of crude oil to about 12 million barrels per day by 2017, but experts doubt the arrival of the production to that goal, and said that seven million barrels a day was a reasonable figure.
The source, who asked not to be named, said that "a delegation headed by the oil minister will attend the conference as well as companies and delegations from foreign oil and gas."
Iraq has a stockpile estimated at 112 trillion cubic feet of gas, but that 700 million cubic feet a day of it burning and wasting due to lack of infrastructure that contribute to the exploitation of gas wasted.
