September 12, 2011 ~ The Harvest Full Moon ...

Full Moon - 19 Pisces - September 12, 5:27 a.m. EDT/2:27 a.m. PDT

The Harvest Full Moon rises over the horizon illuminating the landscape with a soft glow and long shadows. It is enough light to bring in the crops, night fish, mountain bike or play beach volleyball into the wee hours.

The Harvest Moon casts a surreal light upon whatever it touches. We find our selves navigating a dream world with clarity and an adeptness that is not unlike our participation in a lucid dream.

There is a fine line between the two and this comes into focus as we experience the energy of this Full Moon in Pisces where deep, dark and flowing waters carry us out into unfamiliar territory. It is silent. Our every thought is exaggerated in the stillness, eventually rising up in surround sound to remind us there is something that we haven’t paid attention to.

Continues

At this Full Moon there is truly an oppositional quality that plays between the light and the dark, for the moon is bright but the sign in which it finds itself explores the darkest regions of the psyche. And as it relates to the collective psyche we have the potential for every fear and insecurity known to mankind to materialize at this time. What is your greatest fear?

What is our greatest fear?

We could take a look at the fear of non-existence and the nature of the 12th house of the zodiac ruled by Pisces and Neptune. Here we return to “all that is” we realize the self as source, as “one with everything”. We must face our own annihilation in order to experience what is our true self.

The nature of the 12th house is not accessed by the rational mind that operates so efficiently in Virgo and the 6th house. Here thoughts and the mind are suspended. Here the rational mind without frame of reference becomes terrified. Like a child in the dark our imaginations conjure images of every sort of evil lurking. How do we overcome our fears? Within this Full Moon chart there are clues.

It is instructive to take a look at Neptune, Lord of the Deep, as it exists at the apex of a Yod with Mars in Cancer and Venus in Virgo sextile and forming the base for this configuration.

Yod, as many people know is the 10th letter in the Hebrew alphabet and means the finger of God. Where a Yod exists is a powerful indication of what it takes to resolve the relatively incompatible energies that are in sextile to one another at the other end of the aspect; in this case Mars and Venus, the masculine and feminine energies that apparently have little in common with one another. The answer to allaying our fears lies not with Mars and Venus.

They demonstrate the issue and they are what they are. An elephant is and elephant and can’t be changed into a cat by any means. If we approach resolution through Neptune however, we find that the answer lies in our innate sense of faith and trust in our selves as spiritual beings.

This is the ultimate realm of Pisces and Neptune beyond the illusion, the dream, the karma, where we recognize simply that I am and with Neptune in Aquarius that is the underlying expression of the planetary ruler of Pisces—I know that I am. It doesn’t make sense any more to draw divisions or linger on differences—it all just is, and I am. It (meaning Mars, Venus, Saturn, Moon etc.) all derives from the same vast pool from which everything originates; the same energy. It is all an expression of the one and is perfect.

With this Full Moon in Pisces, precisely at this time in our run up the mountain, we find our selves in a position where we need to blindly trust the ‘process’, to shed the influence of the karma to which we have been deeply inured. When we are ready, it is our choice, to step beyond the limitations that have defined us.

With so much light being cast upon the house of darkness (the 12th house is relative to the dark phase of the moon, the Balsamic phase) we have all we need to see that our fears are without basis; that they are the result of thoughts that emanate from a past that does not define us nor do they exist in this present moment.

Pisces is Christ Consciousness. The crucifixion and the story of Jesus is an event imbedded in the collective consciousness. This thought pattern has produced suffering for centuries. We have fear of failing, of not being enough, of our own mortality. When we recognize the true self these thoughts dissolve. We only need to surrender, accept and allow that which is, rather than that which is not.

To continue defining the nature of this Full Moon and passing beyond our fears we look to the position of the Black Moon Lilith as it can be said to naturally abide in the 12th house. The Black Moon Lilith which we have talked about now for a couple of months is a point in space where the moon’s shadow ends—deepest, darkest space. BML represents our darkest fears and our greatest power. At 17 degrees of Aries, semi-sextile the Full Moon and inconjunct or quincunx the Sun. This indicates that the path to empowerment though apparently challenging comes through not conscious effort, that implies the need to do something, but through the acceptance of the self.

As the Full Moon creates a grand square with the Sun and the nodes “doing” will only generate energy that is akin to banging your head against a wall. Being in acceptance will get us from where we’ve been (south node Gemini) to where we are going (north node Sagittarius); from a place of gathering to expressing the self.

There is another story to be told about this Full Moon that involves illusion, criticism, superficiality, ignorance and an exaggerated sense of individual importance but that is not what we are here to create. We are here to create from a place that takes us beyond all the negativity. If these nouns are not a part of my vocabulary, they do not exist. “I create my reality.” And that is certainly the realm of Pisces. With unconditional love I embrace everything as part of myself. I recognize my self as an expression of all that is—and that is love.

It is important to note in this chart that Mars at 25 degrees Cancer is almost exactly bi-quintile Chiron at 2 degrees Pisces (conjunct Neptune). A quintile is derived by dividing 360 degrees by 5 = 72. Five in numerology is the number of human potential to create. Quintiles are prominent in the charts of those who achieve great things. Quintiles relate to the 5th harmonic.

To interpret, at this Full Moon we have the potential of creating great healing that might affect our primal sense of security through realizing that we are ultimately nurtured by our connection to source. It s here that we find every thing we look for. And that is the same as….here (pointing the finger toward my self). When we look at the 5th harmonic chart we still find a grand square involving Sun, Moon and the nodes in fixed signs now.

Our potential to move forward seems to be based upon letting go of the old patterns of interpreting our experience here. The Sun in Leo is self-realization (5th house). The Moon in Aquarius is detachment from emotional issues based upon an instinctive knowing. The south node, where we have been? Is establishing our selves on this planet in a way that supports a good sense of self worth and stability, security. Then can we recognize our self as a part of the big picture, north node in Scorpio.

And what assistance do we have for this in the 5th harmonic? A conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune in Libra (faith and trust in the self as perfectly balanced in spirit) and of course the conjunction of Mars and Chiron in Scorpio, deep awareness of the innate being as part of the big picture—the healing that occurs to our ruptured sense of self.

One more thing, the Sabian symbol for 19 degrees of Pisces (actually 20 degrees when rounded up) is “a table set for an evening meal” which is a beautiful analogy for this Full Moon—“This last symbol of the seventieth five-fold sequence promises a satisfying or fulfilling end to whatever one has been undertaking. As the life closes the Soul-consciousness finds nourishment in whatever, during the whole life, has been relevant to the archetypal purpose and destiny of the Soul…”

When you peer adoringly at this Full Moon see your self reflected there and may the love you have for this planet instill a love for self that carries you beyond the world of mundane consideration toward a deeper understanding.
