Al-Maliki says Iraq seeks fast construction of Fao port Politics

BAGHDAD, Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki said Sunday Iraq was determined to rehabilitate and operate its sea ports.

Al-Maliki, in a meeting with Chairman of DP World Sultan Ahmad bin Sulayem, said his government was working to speed up the building of the Fao Port, and the Iraq was looking forward to importing many of its needs through its ports.

Bin Sulayem said DP World was ready to work hand-in-hand with Iraq.

He said the reoperation of Iraqi ports would have positive impacts on Iraq and entire region.
