Basra, U.S. forces handed over responsibility of the oil port of Basra to Iraqi forces, in preparation for a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.
The commander of Naval Forces, Major General Ali Hussein, a reporter for the Agency (news) on Tuesday: We received today the responsibility of oil port of Basra by the U.S. forces.
Hussein added: that U.S. forces that existed in the port she left and remained a small force, a quarter of the force that was deployed and focused its mission to train Iraqi forces to be withdrawn are also gradually.
The move comes nearly five months of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country under an agreement signed between Iraq and the United States.
