7/26/2011Iraq’s Parliament convenes with presence of 228 Members
The Iraqi Parliament has held its normal session on Tuesday, chaired by its Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify and attendance of 228 out of its 325 Parliament members.
“The Parliament has opened its normal session on Tuesday morning, under chairmanship of its Speaker, Usmal al-Nujeify, and attendance of his two Deputies, Qusay al-Suheil and Aref Teifur, along with 228 Parliament Members,” Aswat al-Iraq correspondent reported.
The Parliament’s Rapporteur, Mohammed al-Khalidy, has stated for Aswat al-Iraq earlier in the day that the Parliament’s schedule includes the discussion of the government’s program, the 2nd reading of the draft-law for the Trade Ministry and the discussion of the Iraqi Passports Law No.2 of 2011.
Khalidy said that the session’s schedule also includes the ratification of the draft-law for the Arab Environment Networks, the law on information crimes, as well as the law on Iraq’s membership of the Islamic Conference Treaty for Fighting Terrorism and its joining of the International Agreement for Fighting and Financing of Terrorism.
