Investment Authority announces the opening of the Iraqi Business Council, U.S.

Authority announced the investment of Iraq, Saturday, the opening of the American Business Council, the Iraqi official in the country, to promote the investment opportunities available in the country, while a senior U.S. official expressed the desire of leading his country to the implementation of projects in the country in collaboration with government and private sector.
The head of the Sami Raouf Al-Araji "Alsumaria News" on the sidelines of a meeting of the national investment with the Board of U.S. Commerce, following the announcement of the establishment of the Joint Council, said that "the Commission has discussed with the Business Council of Iraq the U.S. on the investment opportunities available in Iraq," noting that " including those related to housing and infrastructure needed by Iraq, as well as other economic sectors such as oil, industry and agriculture."
Araji said that "Iraq is open to all States without exception of to get the best deals," noting that "in the contacts and discussions with Brazil, America and many Asian countries."
For his part, Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Knights during a press conference after the meeting, said that "Iraq has a lot of projects for attracting investment that you want U.S. companies to invest in," adding that "a number of his country's companies attended the joint meeting with the Iraqi side, including Exxon, Point Four and other major companies."
The Knights, that "U.S. companies want a partner with the Iraqi government or with local private sector," noting that "the Council will work to establish an Iraqi-American investment mission in Iraq."
The United States and Iraq signed in 2008, the Framework Agreement strategy to support the ministries and agencies of the Iraqi transition from strategic partnership to the areas of economic, diplomatic, cultural and security, including reducing the number of PRTs in the provinces, as well as provide an important sustainable rule of law through the implementation of development program the police and the completion of the coordination, supervision and the report of the Fund of Iraq relief and reconstruction.
