Baghdad, Vice-Premier Roze Nouri Shawees and the U.S. ambassador to Baghdad James Jeffrey discussed the mechanism of "Iraqi Funds Protection Committee," as reported by his office.
The statement, as received by Aswat al-Iraq, added that the committee is headed by Shawees who is entrusted to write a comprehensive report as well as following up all matters connected with the Iraqi funds, which were spent by the Coalition Authority.
During his visit to the U.S., Iraqi Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi discussed with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton matters related to current discussions on the fate of Iraqi assets, which are estimated at 17 billion dollars, spent from the Iraqi Development Fund.
