Ft. Peck Dam break is likely ... THREATENS TO FLOOD ST. LOUIS ..if it breaks.
"There is a possibility a failure of Fort Peck Dam could lead to a domino-like collapse of all five downstream dams. It probably would wreck every bridge, highway, pipeline and power line and split the heartland of the nation, leaving a gap 1,500 miles wide. Countless sewage treatment plants, toxic waste sites and even Superfund sites would be flushed downstream. The death toll and blow to our economy would be ghastly.

A little background info on Fort Peck Dam (thanks to Wikipedia).
Fort Peck Dam is the first of six major dams along the Missouri River. It is also the highest, holding in the 5th largest man made lake in the U.S . Located in the eastern part of Montana (before the Milk river).
If Fort Peck Dam floods, it will affect 10 different states before it ever reaches St. Louis. (The first to be hit will be North Dakota that is already fighting flooding of the Missouri.)
The disaster potential is off the charts…imo.
