May 25, 2011US Deputy Secretary of State hails democratic process in Kurdistan
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Barham Salih received on Wednesday the Deputy Secretary of State for Democracy, Maria Otero, and her accompanying delegation in his office in Erbil.
The two sides discussed the relation between US and Iraq in general and Kurdistan Region in particular, stressing on cementing bilateral ties between two countries in the best interests of both nations.
They also shed light on the latest situations and developments in Kurdistan region, exchanging their views on political process in Kurdistan region.
For his part, (KRG) Prime Minister, Barham Salih, hoped that US government and its organizations support political process in Kurdistan region.
Maria Otero, the Deputy Secretary of State for Democracy, expressed her delightment with the KRG’s effort to promote democratic process, hoping that it would pace more steps to bring the process forward in Kurdistan region.
