Leaders of China, Japan, ROK attend welcome banquet of trilateral summit
SENDAI, Japan, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived here on Saturday, kicking off his two-day visit to Japan for a trilateral summit of China, Japan and South Korea in Tokyo.
Shortly after his arrival, Wen headed for nearby Natori city and Fukushima Prefecture, both hit hard by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, to convey the Chinese people's sympathies for the local people and to demonstrate China's support for Japan's reconstruction efforts.
During Wen's stay in Japan, Wen is scheduled to participate in the fourth trilateral summit of China, Japan and South Korea in Tokyo on Sunday.
He will also hold bilateral meetings respectively with Japanese Primer Minister Naoto Kan and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.
He will deliver a speech at a luncheon attended by entrepreneurs from China, Japan and South Korea, and meet with staff of the Chinese embassy in Japan and representatives of the local Chinese community.
