Kurdistan Alliance prepares to convene Iraq parties

Ongoing rows between the different Iraqi political parties have left no other option but to launch new talks.

Kurdistan Alliance is working to gather leaders and heads of political parties around one table to study pending issues mainly security ministries, Kurdistan Alliance members said.

Iraq’s Parliament has hopes high on the outcome of these meetings which he believes will contribute to easing the situation, a source told Alsumaria.

Iraqiya MPs affirmed for their part that the initiative of Kurdistan leader Massoud Barazani has failed and talks are the only way left to reach solutions to the country’s crisis.

The initiators of the first proposal confirm that a new initiative is being brought forth from Baghdad. They argued that the failure consists in the parties that did not commit to the initiative not in the initiative itself.

The rift between Al Iraqiya and State of Law Coalition cannot be contained by a call for talks, observers say, mainly that some parties argue that the Kurdish initiative made use of rows among political parties to attain political gains.
