The Eighth Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum Kicks Off

Assistant Foreign Minister Saif Muqqadam al Buainain, who is also the head of Qatar''s delegation and Chairman of the Arab side to the meeting, commended the Arab - Chinese partnership in all areas.
Addressing the opening session of the Forum, HE Al Buainain underlined that the State of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, has worked on the development of this Forum and create success factors necessary for its programs so as to ensure that a Arab-Chinese cooperation would reach the level of strategic partnership.
He noted that since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Arab League and the Chinese Foreign Ministry in 1999, which laid the foundation of the Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum in September 2003, the Forum has become a milestone in the march of Arab-Chinese relations, as it provided an appropriate framework, and designed effective mechanisms for dialogue and collective action, based on solid foundation of equality, mutual benefits and interests.
The Forum, he said through efforts of all parties has entered to the path of progress parallel to the official and popular levels .. it also saw a major development in form and content, and achieved tangible results in the consolidation of Arab-China friendship, and became effective framework for joint action and enhancement of cooperation between the two sides in all fields and its impact was growing constantly leading to the establishment of strategic cooperation in order to achieve the desired goals and objectives and meet the aspirations of our nations and our peoples. ", HE al Buainain added HE Saif Al Buainain voiced his satisfaction with what has been done in previous years of age Forum thanks to joint efforts from both sides .. Noting in this context to creation of a lot of mechanisms for cooperation, which included political, economic, cultural, social fields embodied in the executive program for the years 2010 - 2012 which was adopted by the Fourth Ministerial Conference in the Chinese city of Tianjin in May 2010.
HE al Buainain stressed that the Forum will serve to enhance and develop the common interests of both the Arab and Chinese sides and would achieve its objective. "We only have identify priorities and detailed measure as well as setting up more solid structures to achieve of the executive program for the years 2010 - 2012 ", he added.
