Baghdad, Leader of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Ammar al-Hakeem, met on Sunday, May 29, with the US Ambassador to Iraq, James Geoffrey, accompanied with Harvard University Professor, specialized in Iraq's affairs, Mrs. Megan O'Sulivan.
A statement by the SIIC said that, "In the meeting the situation in Iraq and the region as well as the area's current developments are reviewed."
***It added, "Ambassador Geoffrey stressed that President Obama is concerned with the developments. Also they touched on Iraq-US relations and means of keeping up the economic, cultural and scientific relations between both countries."
