Kuwaiti official affirms importance of decisions made in 87th economic session
CAIRO, Director of Economic Department at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled Al-Sabah affirmed on Friday the importance of decisions issued at the conclusion of the 87th session of Arab League Economic and Social Council, held in Cairo, Egypt.

Al-Sabah, who was part of the participating Kuwaiti delegation, told KUNA that one of the most important decisions that were made in these meetings, which were at the level of Finance and Economic Arab Ministers, was "the formation of a ministerial committee to follow up the implementation of decisions made by the Arab Economic, Social and Development Summit, held in Kuwait, January 2009."
The newly formed committee would hold regular meetings on the sidelines of every Arab League Economic and Social Council's session.
The first meeting of the committee would be on September, 2011, which is the date of the 88th session of the Arab Council.
At the conclusion of the 78th session of the council, on Thursday, the ministers called on the council's member states, specialized ministerial councils, private economic organizations, institutes of Arab Joint Action and civil community institutions to "follow up the implementations of the decisions made by Arab summits, especially the economic and social related-files in order to ensure a comprehensive Arab economy."
Al-Sabah said that the council urged the Arab League to address member states of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone to complete any Free Zone related issues by the end of June.
The council also agreed on holding an Arab-Turkish ministerial meeting in the second half of this year in Morocco and a seminar on investment and trade on its sidelines.
It also agreed on holding the Arab-Latin American summit in Peru in the latest quarter of this year, 2011.
