4/22/2011 Mullen arrives in Baghdad for talks in status of US troops
BAGHDAD, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Navy Admiral Mike Mullen arrived here Thursday evening on an official visit to Iraq.
He is scheduled to hold talks with the Iraqi leaders, notably Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki, on the future of the US troops in Iraq and inspect the troops, an Iraqi official told KUNA here.
The visit takes place a few days after US Defense Secretary Robert Gates's visit to the country and eight months ahead of the planned US troops' redeployment, due in December, 2011, under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).
