Arab League holds emergency meeting on Gaza
CAIRO, The Arab League held Sunday an emergency meeting to discuss the Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip. During the meeting, Assistant Secretary General for Palestinian Affairs Muhammad Sobieh said the military escalation is an Israeli policy meant to break the Palestinian will.
These attacks are meant to undermine the two-state peace solution and to disrupt the Palestinian reconciliation efforts, Sobieh added.
The meeting will discuss Arab proposals for putting an end to the Israeli aggression.
At least 20 people were killed and scores injured in a series of Israeli raids and shelling in Gaza since Thursday following a rocket fire into Israel.
This death toll made it the deadliest period in Gaza since the end of Israel's last offensive in Gaza two years ago.
