Arab League to hold emergency meeting on Gaza events tomorrow

CAIRO, The Arab League will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow (Sunday) to discuss the serious escalation of the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, it was announced here earlier today.

The meeting, called for by rotating chair of Oman, and upon a request by the Palestinian government, "will address Israel's continuous aggressions against the besieged people of Gaza.

This is the recent of the series of crimes being committed by Israel over the past six decades. It coincides with the Deir Yassin massacre that took place on April 9, 1947," the League's Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Ben Hilli said in a press release.

The meeting, held at the level of permanent representatives, will discuss future steps and political proposals in a bid to stop the aggressions and hold accountable those responsible for them.

In the last two days, the Israeli military attacked medical and media targets, as well as homes in the Strip, killing 17 people at least, including two women and two elderly men, and injuring dozens of others, including children, according to reports.
