3/26/2011UAE Federal National Council to host GCC Parl't Speakers Meeting on March 30
DUBAI, General Secretariat of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates completed preparations for holding the fifteenth two-day meeting of the secretaries general of the parliaments of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Arab states due in Dubai on March 30.
Secretary General of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) Dr. Mohammad Salem Al-Mazroui said -- in a statement Saturday -- that such meeting comes within the recent spate of parliamentary meetings and conferences hosted by FNC of late including the fourth meeting of the legislative councils speakers from GCC states.
Al-Mazroui added that such gatherings also included meetings held by Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Conference (PUOIC), namely the meetings of PUOIC permanent specialized committees, and its executive committee as well as the PUOIC council meeting and its second exceptional convention, making clear that such events reflect the prestigious status of UAE at the parliamentary level, the confidence with which it is invested.
Finally, he said that all arrangements were made in what lives up to the good reputation of UAE and reflects the high administrative and technical abilities wielded by the personnal at the FNC General Secretariat when it comes to shouldering the responsibility of parliamentary functions at the continental and international levels.
