Maliki launches new reforms in Iraq
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki launched new reforms aimed to upgrade the living standards of Iraq and eradicate corruption.
In a press conference held at the ministerial council, Prime Minister stated that every minister should be held accountable for corruption.
Al Maliki proposed to reduce retirement age from 63 to 61. Iraqi Prime Minister called to dissolve the municipal council and to hold early provincial elections.
The call of Parliament Speaker Ousama Al Nujaifi to hold early provincial elections was made upon the request of the government, Al Maliki said.
He affirmed as well that the nomination of security ministers will be passed to Parliament next week for vote. (March 6th)
Al Maliki announced that he is willing to dismiss any minister who proves of a shortfall after the 100 day deadline he gave to his Cabinet to shape up.
