06/03/2011Parliamentary Economic Commission oversees the contracts trade for the prevention of corruption
Baghdad, A member of the Economic Council of the Iraqi parliament on Sunday, that the contracts and the Ministry of Commerce to provide a ration card items for the citizens, will be supervised directly by the Commission, to prevent the spread of financial and administrative corruption.
Said Salman al-Moussawi, told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) "The Economic Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives will be supervised directly on the mechanisms of contracting and negotiation between the Ministry of Commerce and international companies."
He added that "the supervision of the Committee on commercial contracts are in agreement with the government, so as to prevent the spread of financial and administrative corruption as well as accelerate the work of the ministry and ensure the safety of the negotiation proceedings in accordance with legal formulas."
And cut off the Iraqi government earlier in the ration card items for senior staff and substantial financial income in order to provide the funds required to equip the citizens share enough.
He said al-Moussawi said, "the parliamentary Economic Committee will hold talks weekly with the Directors-General in the Ministry to ensure smooth distribution of the ration card items on schedule and without any delay."

The financial allocations for the ration card in the budget year 2010 amounted to 3 trillion and 500 billion dinars (about 2,9 billion dollars).
