3/6/2011Istanbul to host next G20 Summit
ISTANBUL, Turkey is set host the upcoming G20 Economic Summit, either in late April or early May, with the world's biggest economies hoping to put a stop to rising prices.
The summit is scheduled to be held at the city of Istanbul, and will focus on two global fundamental issues namely; energy and food prices, said Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan quoted by news agency, Anadolu on Sunday.
Babacan noted that 2011 especially, is a year that is presenting many challenges, and that there is no time to waste, stressing that based on these developments urgent efforts are required.
The G20 Summit will be held in cooperation between Turkey and the current chair country, France.
The G20's last summit was held in Seoul, South Korea in 2010.
