International lawyers to protect Iraq's funds abroad
The Government intends to deal with a team of international lawyers to pursue and protect Iraqi assets abroad after us protection for the money.
This morning announced for Member Finance Committee in the House of Haitham al-Jabburi said: "the protection Iraqi funds important and sensitive issue for the country ”, noting that the Finance Committee will monitor the work of this group by saving those funds for global banks according to due process and will seek every effort to preserve such assets against loss.
Cabinet has recently ratified all recommendations Committee formed to establish a mechanism to ensure the protection of Iraqi assets abroad, including the adoption of the Convention on compensation agreements with the US Government regarding the amount of 400 million dollars and demand of Foreign Ministry followed a presidential decision to protect Iraq's money in the U.S. and continued:
It is also a Committee of the ministries of finance, Foreign Affairs and the Office of financial supervision and the Central Bank to prepare the Government's report to be submitted to The UN Security Council in early May, with the Central Bank to open accounts at other banks and money transfer to the Development Fund of Iraq before/DFI/date and agreeing on concrete and transparent mechanism whereby cutoff percentage compensation 5 percent.
