Another Day, Another Thousand Dollars ...

Is anyone making money?

Well, now that you ask, Yes .. a select few. Those who have 10 -15 URLs (Uniform Resource Locators - (addresses) that link to the same site (s) all owned by the same person (s).

How do they make money? They make money by getting people to visit their sites and they generate (hits) and in return they are paid for advertising.

1. The more advertisements, the more money they generate.

2. The more traffic to the site the more money they make from the advertising companies (ad sense and others)

3. Payment is determined by how many "hits" the site receives.

Hits determine how much the advertising companies will pay. If you will notice, anytime you try to research a topic, the same site (or one of it's sister sites will pop up) most people will end up at one of the many sites owned by the same "select" individual (s), generating money for them through advertisements.

The forum sites promote individual companies as well as companies such as facebook and twitter, and text messaging (which together bring in the bigger bucks).

How do they generate more hits to their site:

1. Bait ~ They make sure to provide bait for the people and tantalize them with promises and rumors. Also, they will claim that the news they provide will not be found anywhere else on the web. It's the number 1 tactic for generating hits, which in return, makes them money. (see above)

2. Cover all avenues ~ Highjack ~ Pagejacking ~

What does that mean?

It means the forum owners make sure to have key phrases that a search will capture. That means if you decide to do a search, for instance "dinar revaluation", the search engines such as google, Aol, or bing will direct you to their site (s). This is known as "pagejacking" and it is illegal ~read here ~ Google Tweaks Search to Punish 'Low-Quality' sites ... and here This is Good ~ Google Clamps Down on "Content Farms" ...

3. Sockpuppets (i know you're tired of hearing about sockpuppets) but, this is the way they operate. Alot of people do not realize that the same person will be on many different forums under a different name. Why do they do this you may ask?

By assuming different user names, the person can target members on a site and become "friends" with them. This is a great avenue for spreading rumors. The sockpuppet will claim that they have inside intel and will only reveal that information to the "friend" hoping that in turn, that person spreads the rumor to their friends; And, they usually do.

4. Try to Discredit other forums/sites/blog

Remember they want you to think that their site (s) have all the hot intel. Hmmm, so far they have not proven themselves. (news you pay for, is Not the most informative news).

Advice: When you read the "inside intel" or rumors, just remember to be cautious and take the information for what it's worth and stay grounded. Those who are spreading the rumors don't care one way or the other if your feelings get hurt. They look at this as a business opportunity and if it makes you feel any better just know that your helping someone pay their bills at the end of each month with money to spare.
