Kuwait welcomes world guests to national celebrations
KUWAIT, The cabinet, in its weekly meeting held here Sunday chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, expressed Kuwait's pleasure to receive world leaders and dignitaries expected to arrive soon to take part in the celebrations of national occasions.
The Cabinet welcomes the participation of world leaders and dignitaries in Kuwaiti celebrations and wishes for them to enjoy their stay here, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan said following the meeting.
Kuwait marks this month the 50th Anniversary of Independence, 20th Anniversary of Liberation and Fifth Anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's assumption of office.
In this regard, the Cabinet congratulated HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah on the occasion of his Fifth Anniversary, praying for Allah to protect him and support his efforts to develop this country.
Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan, in a statement after the government meeting, said the Cabinet was briefed on two messages received by HH the Amir from Speaker of the Singaporean Parliament Abdullah Tarmugi and Brunei Foreign Minister Mohamed Bolkiah on bilateral relations and means to bolster them.
The Cabinet welcomes the visit which British Prime Minister David Cameron to Kuwait Monday which comes within the framework of the efforts exerted to enhance friendly relations between both countries, Al-Roudhan.
The Kuwaiti cabinet hailed measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to contain and face the regrettable incidents there, urging the Bahraini people to positively comply with a call by Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for dialogue.
It lauded the call as a civilized responsible move to contain the recent unrest in the country and to attain the common interest of the nation and citizens.
The cabinet then reviewed the recent regrettable security events that happened at Taimaa suburb in Jahra Governorate on Friday when a group of illegal residents gathered and behaved in a way that could harm the country's national security.
The ministers listened to a briefing from Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmad Humoud Al-Sabah on the circumstances of the events.
The interior minister warned that his ministry would never tolerate anything that could disrupt national security.
The cabinet, in this context, voiced full confidence that the central agency for treating the positions of illegal residents would be able to find a practical successful solution to this problem on a basis that would take into consideration all security, humanitarian, legal, economic and social circumstances.
The cabinet also decided to accept a donation from a Kuwaiti charity for establishing a stem cell center, which costs KD seven million.
Finally, the ministers considered the affairs of the National Assembly and reports on the latest Arab and international political developments.
