2011-02-28 Police chief: Curfew to be imposed in Kirkuk from Tuesday
Kirkuk police chief, Maj. Gen. Jamal Tahir said Saturday police would impose an indefinite curfew from Tuesday at 6:00 AM (local time) after reporting entering 4 car bombs into the city.
He also said holding protest would be also banned as of the date of starting the curfew.
Speaking about the deployment of Kurdish Peshmerga forces at the outskirts of Kirkuk city, Maj. Gen. Jamal Tahir said they were deployed temporarily to protect people’s lives.
