Iraq's al-Wifaq Movement, led by al-Iraqiya Leader Allawi, calls for just distribution of fortunes:
Baghdad, Iraq's al-Wifaq (concord) Movement, led by former Prime Minister and Leader of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Iyad Allawi, has called in a general conference it held in Baghdad on Saturday, for just distribution of fortunes, in such a way that safeguards the pride of Iraqi citizens and achieves a decent living for them.
"The Conference, held under the motto "ٌRennaissance & Justice,", attended by 1,600 personalities, representing the Movement's different organizations, is discussing the current Iraqi status-quo and the the recent changes in the Arab and Middle East Regions, as well as the political, economic and security situation in Iraq, along with the recent changes in the Arab and Middle East Regions, impacts of which are reflected on the situation inside Iraq," a Movement's statement, received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency said.
It added that the conferees have also discussed "possibilities for revising the political course in Iraq and proposals to reform it," adding that "the current confusion in the political process had been the cause of the economic and security crisis, that had been reflected negatively on the (Iraqi) Homeland as a whole."
The conferees, the statement said, had also "reiterated on necessity for the just distribution of fortunes, in such a way that safeguards the pride of the Iraqi citizens and achieves decent living for them, in order to enjoy those fortunes that God Almighty had blessed them on the 'Homeland of Prophets and Men of Thought (Iraq)."
"The conference discussed the platform for laying a national project, that stands against sectarian political projects, that exploit religion and refuse to believe in the culture of forgiveness, personal freedoms and openness towards the others," reiterating that the Iraqi Coalition "is the best choice for the Iraqi people, that challenged all obstacles and threats," adding that "al-Wifaq Movement is an indivisible part of al-Iraqiya Coalition, the real guardian of the national project and its beating heart."
Notewothy is that al-Wifaq Movement is one of the leading political movements in Iraq, that was formed in the early 1990s, led by former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, who heads al-Iraqiya Parliamentary Bloc that gained 91 seats in Iraq's March 2010 parliamentary elections, being the largest number of seats in the current 325-seat Parliament.
Its Leader Allawi plans to chair the proposed National Council for Strategic Policies (NCSP), that was formed to draw Iraq's general policies in the political, economic and security fields.
