To meet with Talabani and al-Shara and al-Otari result from economic agreements Iraq - Syria

Shara also stressed the importance of convening the Arab summit in Baghdad, for the leading role expected of Iraq to improve the Arab situation.

The statement said that President Jalal Talabani announced the readiness of Iraq, the leaders and people, to develop relations with Syria to a strategic level, indicating that the common interests at all levels emphasizes the need to work for the strategic objective, and expressed the hope and prepare them to be this year is the year of the coalition strategic cooperation between the two countries.

To an examination of President Jalal Talabani, with Mohammad Naji Otari and Prime Minister of the areas of joint cooperation between the two countries at the levels of economy and trade, the sectors of oil, gas and petrochemical industries and the development of ports and border crossings and activating the role of businessmen to increase the flow of goods, implementation and administration of development and investment projects.

During the meeting, emphasized the importance of activating the work of the Iraqi-Syrian Supreme Committee and the intensification of bilateral meetings between ministries, institutions and companies in both countries and the importance of the link road and railway, linking the electricity network.

During the meeting, also discussed bilateral cooperation in oil and gas sectors and the need to revive the oil pipeline old to export Iraqi oil through Syria and speed up the procedures of extending new lines to transport Iraqi oil and gas to be exported through Syrian territory, also reviewed the oil ministers of the Iraqi and Syrian relations of cooperation between the two sides in the fields of oil, gas and mineral wealth and ways of developing them to achieve the common interest of both countries.

The two sides discussed during the meeting, re-run oil pipeline old Iraq after the rehabilitation and strengthening of cooperation between the ministries of oil in the two countries to provide the supplies required for the addition to discussing the subject of oil and gas pipelines of new and the stages completed for the two sides to implement the project, the two sides also discussed the possibility of utilization of gas available in the field of crutch near the Syrian border and the actions taken and progress of the work contract with a foreign company which will develop the field as well as discuss cooperation in the development of structures adjacent to the field of prospecting and exploration for oil and gas cooperation between the General Organization for Petroleum and companies with Iraqi oil companies in the areas of surveying, prospecting and drilling, exploration and oil services .

The two sides to the issue of training and qualification of technical and administrative cadres and benefit from the training centers in Syria, especially the national training center for the rehabilitation of cadres needed by the Iraqi Oil Ministry as well as cooperation in the fields of mineral wealth, particularly in the area of investment phosphate, which Iraq has large reserves of it in addition to the cooperation in various other areas.
