Discovery's Scheduled Liftoff Nears

Mission managers held their prelaunch news conference on Feb. 23 to update the status of STS-133. The space shuttle mission to the International Space Station is slated to begin Feb. 24 with the launch of Discovery at 4:50 p.m. Eastern. Weather is expected to remain favorable.

Today we held our launch minus 1 day mission management team mtg where we got together to discuss our current status and readiness meeting everything is on track and going beautifully with the countdown and we are more than ready to launch. It was a short meeting
Scott had the biggest topic of the day and had to wrap things up with Iraq in mpm just to see if it was configured properly some lessons we had learned from one of the other mpms that came down made us question what we had configured in the bay and it showed really good results today that said we were more than ready to fly with that configuration concern - we talked a little about an rcs which is a reaction control system - one of the little steering thrusters on the shuttle one of the regulaters in that system is creeping which means that it's letting a little bit pf pressure through instead of holding it tight and it's creeping in at a little higher rate than we allow it to but there is no real issue with that.
(then more tech talk) we will have another meeting today to go over the details ot the paperwork and sign the official waiver that says it doesn't meet the specs but it's ok to fly ...continues
Ready to fly sts 133 we've been ready to fly for quite a while. will be able to bring endeavor over to get mated with at the end of the month. (That would be Monday, February 28th.
