Catherine Ashton appoints new Head of EU Delegation to Iraq

Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Commission Vice-President, today appointed Jana Hybáškova as the new Head of European Union Delegation to Iraq.
"I am delighted to appoint Jana Hybáškova as the new head of the EU Delegation to Iraq. The Iraq Delegation plays a key role in the implementation of the EU's policy and commitment to Iraq and Jana is an excellent choice for the job," said Catherine Ashton.
Jana Hybáškova started her career at the Foreign Ministry of the Czech Republic; among others she was the Czech Ambassador to Kuwait and Qatar, with responsibility also for Iraq.
During the 2004-2009 she was a Member of the European Parliament, where she was particularly active in the field of Foreign and Security Policy. She speaks several languages, including Arabic."
