2/4/2011 Baghdad summit timing unchanged despite Egypt unrest -- FM
BAGHDAD, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said Thursday the date of the Arab summit, due here in March, has not been changed despites the ongoing turmoil in Egypt.
"The summit organizing system is totally detached from the events in any Arab League member state. It's an independent entity," the minister said in a joint press conference with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Bin-Zayed.
A technical mission from the League's Secretariat is visiting Baghdad to oversee the preparations for the summit," Zebare noted.
He added that the briefed Bin-Zayed on these preparations affirming that the League's delegation is satisfied with them.
