Sharm El-Sheikh, Kuwait summits complementary - minister
SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali said here Sunday the 2nd Arab economic summit due here on Wednesday would be a complement to the first gathering held in Kuwait in January 2009.
Speaking to KUNA upon arrival here for participation in a preparatory meeting for the summit, the Kuwaiti minister said Egypt, during the event, would take over the presidency of the summit from Kuwait.
During the gathering, he maintained, the Kuwaiti delegation taking part in the event will submit a detailed report on accomplishments notched up since the first summit in Kuwait.
Al-Shimali vowed that his country would work with Egypt to ensure a successful Arab economic summit.

Kuwait partakes in Arab eco, social meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh
Finance Minister Mustafa Al-Shimali will head Kuwait's delegation to the preparatory meeting for the Arab Economic and Social Council scheduled for Sunday at Egypt's Sharm El-Sheikh City, the venue for the second Arab Economic and Social Development summit on January 16-19.
A statement for the Finance Ministry, released on Saturday, said that the meeting would witness the participation of Arab finance, economic, social affairs officials, adding that the event would focus on issues connected to the integral Arab summit that its first edition held in Kuwait on January 2009.
Resolutions which came out of Kuwait's summit would be discussed during the meeting especially the one concerning the initiative launched by the Kuwaiti leadership to establish a fund that would support small and medium size business and projects, stated the statement.
The issues discussed in the meeting would be then forwarded to the summit for approval, the statement concluded.
