Syrian PM to visit Iraq this month
DAMASCUS, Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Otteri will visit Iraq this month heading a high ranking delegation which includes Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallem and ranking economic officials.
Otteri will discuss with Iraqi counterpart ways to bolster bilateral relations, including ways to execute previously signed agreements on economy trade, oil, gas, and transportation between the two sides. The Syrian premier's visit comes as the second Arab high ranking official to visit Iraq after the formation of the new Iraqi government.
Jordan's Prime Minister Samir Al-Rifai was the first.
The two sides are also keen to boost their trade exchange which currently stands at USD 800 million, the two aims to boost such trades to become US three billion within the next two years.
