Deputy for the National Alliance in the Iraqi parliament, the upcoming visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to the State of Kuwait, is a courtesy visit comes in response to an invitation from his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Nasser Al-Ahmad during his visit to Baghdad this month.
Khaled al-Asadi said that "al-Maliki will meet the call made by his Kuwaiti counterpart during a visit to Baghdad this month," noting that "al-Maliki will discuss with the Kuwaiti government relations and the second aimed to consolidate the good."
Asadi stressed that "the interest of Iraq and Kuwait, ending the outstanding issues between them," noting that "the UN Security Council to link the abolition of all sanctions on Iraq to end the outstanding issues between him and Kuwait."
The Kuwaiti Prime Minister Nasser Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, has visited Iraq at the head of the delegation of a top 12 of this month and met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, as well as a number of Iraqi officials, a visit is the first of its kind for a Kuwaiti official high-level since the resumption of relations between the two countries after the change the former regime in 2003. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani has announced that it meets the invitation to attend celebrations of Kuwait in February in response to an invitation by the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad.
The Iraqi government announced on 24 November last year from the agreement with Kuwait to create a buffer zone about 500 meters on both sides of the border to both countries, to be region-free completely from any activity, except for the border police, as well as the pledge of Kuwait building 50 houses for the farmers of Iraqi border .
The UN Security Council voted in the presence of Iraq, represented by Minister of State, as well as representatives of the five major states, Turkey, Japan, mid-last month, to exit Iraq from Chapter VII, after the Council adopted three draft resolution included the extension of the work of international immunity to Iraqi funds and the restrictions on the production nuclear energy and weapons of mass destruction and abolition of all belongings of the seventh item.
