Iraqi parliament discusses five articles on its agenda on its 22nd session

Baghdad, An official source, of the media department of the Iraqi parliament, confirmed on Thursday that the parliament began its 22 session in the presence of 250 deputies, of which presented an agenda that included five articles.

The source, who asked not to be named, told AKnews that the five topics that are indicated on the agenda are the replacement of deputies, the first reading of the federal budget draft, hosting the Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari to discuss Iraq's international obligations, and relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

The Iraqi parliament decided to postpone the first reading of the federal budget draft for the current year to today's meeting due to the non-completion of some technical issues in the project

Deputies predicted that the budget would be re-balanced again to the Iraqi Council of Ministers, because of high amounts allocated as social benefits to the three presidencies.

As for Iraq and Saudi relations, it is reported that Saudi Arabia has executed 40 Iraqis in recent years under sectarian backgrounds, pointing out that more than 600 Iraqis are detained in Saudi jails, yet 149 prisoners were released during the past few years.

According to the reports of associations interested by human rights, the Saudi authorities conducted the trials of Iraqi detainees quickly and issued prison sentences on them of up to fifteen years on various charges such as illegal entrance and smuggling.

Defending human rights organizations, confirm that there is no accurate statistics for the number of Iraqis in Saudi jails.
