(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The political party of Shiite Iraqi cleric Moqtada al-Sadr called on the government to allocate a share of the country’s oil revenue to each citizen.
The party, the Sadr Trend, also said in a parliamentary session yesterday that homeless families should be given land and facilities to build houses. The party wants the government to help farmers develop agricultural land to boost the sector and cut the reliance on imports.
Al-Sadr returned to Iraq on Jan. 5 after an absence of almost four years. His party won more than a tenth of parliament’s 325 seats in the March elections.
