Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki meets President of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff
Received the Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki at his office today, the official chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen.
He stressed during the meeting the importance of strengthening relations with the United States in various areas and activating the strategic framework agreement.
He called on Prime Minister the United States to provide support to the armed forces and the Iraqi security services in the areas of training and arming of Iraq and to develop expertise in this area.
For his part, praised Admiral Mullen to improvements in the ranks of the armed forces and the Iraqi security services, stressing his country's support for Iraq in all fields, especially training and weaponry.
He congratulated the President of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mr. Prime Minister on the occasion of his appointment of the new government, and wished him Muwafaqiya and success in this task.
The meeting was attended by U.S. Ambassador in Iraq, Mr. James Jeffrey.
