Kurdistan region president Massoud Barzani met today December 25 Michael D. Barbero, US forces-Iraq deputy commanding general for advising and training in Salahaddin resort, Erbil. The meeting came as Gen. Michael Barbero was on edge of completing his mission in Iraq.
The US deputy general commander appreciated president Barzani’s assistance and cooperation during his mission in Iraq, expressing his delightment with the progress taking place in the Kurdistan region.
He also appreciated president Barzani’s initiative to put an end to the political stalemate hindering the formation of Iraqi government.
For his part, president Barzani thanked Gen. Barbero, describing him as a close friend of Kurdish people, wishing him success in his future duties.
President Barzani also said that the US logistical and training teams greatly contributed to address many disputes between KRG Peshmerga ministry and Iraqi defense ministry.
