Kurdish parliament to resume sessions tomorrow
Sulaimaniya, Kurdish parliament will resume its sessions tomorrow and has 12 draft laws to discusss until the end of this month, said MP on Sunday.
The major draft laws include: 2010 provincial budget of Kurdistan Region, prostituion ban act, act of hiring lectueres in primary schools, political partis' budget act, agriculture revamp act, improving payment of Kurdish military "Peshmarga" and act of establishing Kurdistan High Electoral Commission, MP Goran Azad said.
Acording to him, the parliament is expected to ratify some of those 12 draft laws, reject some and delay contraversial ones.
The reason behind putting off former sessions was the absence of the KRG planning minister as some of the draft laws were related to the ministry, Azad added.
Parliament recess will start in January, 2011 but it is also expected to pass the 2011 budget act if it received in time, he added.
Suzan Shahab on Kurdistani List (KDP & PUK dominant) said the coming sessions will pass the provincial budget.
She said the provincial budget is $250 million to reconstrcut the provinces of Kurdistan Region by implementing many service projects.
