Turkish FM visits Iraq next month to prepare for PM's visit

ANKARA, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will visit Iraq in coming two weeks to prepare for Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Baghdad.

Time of Davutoglu's visit was not determined yet, foreign ministry spokesman told KUNA Monday, but added it would probably fall between January 9 and 11.

He said Davutoglu would hold talks with Iraqi government officials, and that he might meet with Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki to convey a verbal message from Erdogan.

Erdogan said earlier today that he would be visiting Iraq in coming months on top of a high-ranking political and commercial delegation.

He said he would sent Davutoglu to prepare for the "important" visit. He added that the investment atmosphere in Iraq was suitable for Turkish companies specially the construction sector.
