December 25, 2010Iraq renews budget allocation to article 140
Deputy head of the special committee tasked with implementing article 140 of the Iraqi constitution, Narmin Othman said Iraqi government continued to distribute compensation cheques and it also allocated 172 billion Iraqi Dinar from 2011 government budget to implement article 140.
Speaking in a press conference held today December 25 in Erbil, Narmin Othman said Iraqi finance ministry announced that the compensation process would have completed by 2013. In discussing lack of female candidates in Iraqi government, Narmin Othman as the secretary general of Arab League for women affairs, said female participation was withdrawing compared to the two previous cabinets but it had nothing to do with political parties' intension.
