Kuwaiti official chairs GCC power grid panel
KUWAIT, Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity and Water Ahmad Al-Jassar presided here Wednesday over a meeting of the consulting and regulatory committee of the Gulf interconnection grid.
Representatives from all the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states were present in the meeting, the Kuwaiti electricity ministry said in a release.
The Gulf inteconnection grid, which aims to revamp inter-Gulf power services and to boost their efficiency, was the key topic on the agenda of the meeting, it said.
Such meetings are chiefly intended to prop up cooperation and coordination among the GCC member states and exchange experience among them, it pointed out.
An inter-Gulf power exchange agreement would surely bring benefits to all the GCC member states, it added.
