The Iraqi government is almost complete. The President (Talibani) and the Prime Minister (Maliki) and the Speaker (Osama al-Nujaifi) have been appointed. Prime Minister Maliki will select his cabinet. Hopefully, this will be finished by November 20th. Link ~Maliki will not wait for the end of the feast and negotiations will begin ...
Once the gov't is seated, we are looking for Parliament to re-convene and pass necessary laws i.e, oil/gas law, budget, any adjustments to the investment law.
Chapter 7 ~ With regard to resolving other outstanding Chapter VII issues, many Council members seem to view progress as likely only after the formation of a new Iraqi government and with Iraq/Kuwait issues remaining more problematic ~ Link to SC report November.
