Iraqi judiciary opens business court in Baghdad

Baghdad, The head of the Supreme Judicial Council stated on Wednesday that the Federal Court have decided to open a business court in Baghdad that will be able to process the lawsuits issued by international companies operating in Iraq.
Medhat al-Mahmoud said at a press conference in Baghdad that two judges reside over the new court which will be able to receive the issued lawsuits by “the modern means of the internet”.
"The foreign investment companies operating in Iraq were issuing lawsuits against governmental institutions in the international courts. These companies are now able to issue lawsuits in the new court," he said.
