U.S. Commerce calls for the Iraqi government to continue its discussions to pass laws oil, gas and electricity

Called on the U.S. Department of Commerce the Iraqi government to continue its discussions with local governments on energy issues and the passage of laws oil, gas and electricity by the Council of Representatives.

Said Francisco Sanchez, Undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce during his meeting with Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani said that these actions would strengthen the rule of law in the energy sector and support the legal and regulatory environment for international investment in Iraq.He added that such reforms will encourage American companies to come to Iraq, pointing to the importance of Iraq's continued move towards accession to the WTO as part of its efforts to integrate into the global trading system.
