Participate and Environment Minister Nermeen Othman, who reach Cairo on Tuesday at the head of a delegation representing Iraq at the meeting of the Executive Office in its 22 Arab Ministers of Environment to be held tomorrow.
The Director of the Department of Environment and Sustainable Development Gamal Gaballah that Iraq is a member of the Executive Office of the Ministers of Environment Forum as a head of the coming Arab summit in 2011, he said, adding that the meeting of Ministers was preceded by meetings of the Joint Committee on Environment and Development in the Arab world at its twelfth session and lasted four days with the participation of experts concerned with the affairs environment of the Arab countries.
The agenda includes a session of 22 items, including follow-up implementation of decisions of the Council of Ministers and officials for the Environment at its 21, and follow up the implementation of Arab summit resolutions economic, social, developmental, and discuss ways to support the environmental situation in Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Comoros and Djibouti, as well as urged the Arab countries and regional and international organizations concerned to provide further support for the Palestinian capacity building and implementation of projects to protect the environment in the occupied Palestinian territories, and the impact of the Israeli war on Lebanon and the leakage of oil spills.
The Gap God: that the agenda also includes the study of environmental considerations in the electricity sector, prepared by experts of the Council of Arab Ministers responsible for electricity on the Arab countries and Arab and regional organizations and international organizations and the Declaration on the terms of Award Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs for the year 2010 with the theme of «best draft voluntary protects the environment and provides jobs »and circulate the report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the oil slick on Lebanese shores.
