Syrian president Bashar al-Assad received on Tuesday Leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim, Syrian News agency Sana reported
Talks dealt with the situation in the Iraqi arena and the ongoing dialogue among the parliamentary blocs to find a solution to the crisis of forming the Iraqi government, stressing the importance of forming a national unity government which represents all the Iraqi people.
For his part, al-Hakim expressed appreciation of Syria's support to the Iraqi people and its keenness on establishing the best relations with Iraq.
