Social Affairs Min. arrives in Cairo for Arab League meeting
CAIRO, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Mohammad Al-Afasi arrived here today to take part in the 56th meeting of Arab social affairs and labor ministers' executive office which will be held tomorrow at the Arab League's headquarters.
Al-Afasi said in a statement to KUNA that upon his arrival that the executive office will discuss the agenda of the 30th Arab Council of Social Affairs Ministers due late December.
He added that the agenda includes a lot of topics and at their forefront are following up the decisions of the Arab economic summit in Kuwait and the issues that will be put forward by the extraordinary Arab summit in Sirt on October 9.
He also noted that the executive office will discuss preparations for the second Arab economic summit due in Sharm Al-Sheikh next January, besides devising an executive plan of action for fighting illiteracy among women in the Arab region and activating the Arab strategy for reducing poverty.
The executive office meeting will be presided over by the Egyptian minister of social solidarity Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi with Kuwait as the deputy president and Sultante of Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Palestine and Comoros as members.
